Leadership is all about salesmanship, and salesmanship is nothing but a transference of feelings

"إبني قدر يقنعني بشي ما حدا قدر يقنعني أعمله... وذكّرني بدرس مهم بالقيادة!" ❤️

Leadership doesn't require a title. And influence isn't just about what you say. It's about how you make people feel.

I've been smoking since I was 19.

I tried quitting several times. I even succeeded for an entire year, until one cigarette brought me back to my old habit.

I knew the risks. I knew I needed to stop.

But knowing wasn't enough.

Then one day, my 13-year-old son came home from school, furious and deeply concerned.

"Do you really want to get cancer? Do you really want to die?"

He had asked me to stop many times before.

But this time, I didn't just hear his words. I FELT his fear, his passion, and how deeply he cared.

And something shifted.

I started taking action again.

Today, I've reduced my smoking from around 20 cigarettes a day to six IQOS sticks. I haven't quit completely yet, but I'm moving toward that goal.

So what did my son teach me about leadership?

That influence is a transfer of feelings.

He had no authority over me. No leadership title. And he didn't tell me anything I didn't already know.

He simply made me FEEL how much he cared.

And that moved me to take action where information and repeated advice hadn't.

Think about your workplace.

You want buy-in from your manager? Commitment from your team? Accountability from your colleagues?

You can explain, persuade, set expectations, and repeat yourself endlessly.

But do people genuinely feel that you care about them and what matters to them?

As the saying goes:

"People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care."

Leadership isn't reserved for those with titles.

A junior employee can influence a senior executive. A team member can inspire a manager to reconsider a decision.

And a 13-year-old boy can inspire his mother to challenge a decades-long addiction.

Never underestimate the power of genuine care. It can move people to do things they once believed were impossible.

I'm curious:

When was the last time someone influenced you, not because of their position or expertise, but because you genuinely felt they cared?
